How Our Tools Work

Every calculator follows the same simple three-step flow — no accounts, no uploads, no waiting.

1

Enter your details

Type the numbers you already know: employment dates and basic salary for the end of service calculator, any amount for the VAT calculator, or an Iqama or plate number for the traffic fine checker. Your inputs stay in your browser and are never transmitted.

2

We apply the Saudi rules

Each tool encodes the relevant regulation: Articles 84 and 85 of the Saudi Labor Law for gratuity, the 15% ZATCA rate for VAT, and MOI violation categories for traffic fines. Calculations update in real time as you type.

3

Get results you can use

See an instant breakdown with every component explained, download a PDF report for your records, and follow links to the official HRSD, ZATCA, and Absher portals to verify figures before making decisions.

Saudi Labor Law & Tax Essentials

A quick primer on the rules behind our calculators.

Articles 84 & 85: End of Service Benefits

The Saudi Labor Law guarantees an end of service award whenever an employment relationship ends. Article 84 sets the core formula: half a month's wage for each of the first five years of service and one full month's wage for every year after that, pro-rated for partial years. Article 85 adjusts the award when the employee resigns: nothing below two years of service, one third of the full award between two and five years, two thirds between five and ten years, and the complete award after a decade. Related provisions matter too — Article 88 obliges employers to settle all dues within one week of a termination or two weeks of a resignation, and Article 87 preserves the full award in special cases such as force majeure. Our end of service calculator encodes all of these rules so you can test any scenario instantly.

VAT at 15%: What Businesses Must Know

Value added tax arrived in Saudi Arabia on 1 January 2018 at 5% under the GCC Unified VAT Framework Agreement, then jumped to 15% on 1 July 2020 — the rate that still applies today. The tax is administered by the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA), which requires mandatory registration once annual taxable supplies exceed 375,000 SAR and offers voluntary registration from 187,500 SAR. Registered businesses must issue compliant electronic invoices under the Fatoora program, file monthly or quarterly returns, and keep records for at least six years. Not everything is taxed at 15%: exports, some international transport, and qualifying medicines are zero-rated, while certain financial services and residential rents are exempt. Our VAT calculator handles the arithmetic — adding or extracting 15% — in both directions.

Absher: The Gateway to Government E-Services

Absher is the Ministry of Interior's official e-services platform and the authoritative channel for traffic fine queries, Iqama services, passport procedures, and vehicle registration in Saudi Arabia. Individuals use Absher to query traffic violations, pay fines through SADAD, and file objections within 30 days of a violation being recorded; businesses use Absher Business to manage entire fleets. Most moving violations are captured automatically by Saher, the national camera enforcement system that monitors speeding, red-light running, and mobile phone use, then notifies the registered owner by SMS. Because unpaid fines can block registration renewals and even exit-reentry visas, checking regularly matters. Our traffic fine checker provides a demo interface and private manual tracking — always confirm live data through Absher itself.
